If your GoBe stays in calibration mode for neuroactivity longer than expected, this may be due to several reasons. Below is an explanation of how calibration works and what can affect it.
Normal calibration times
The duration of neuroactivity calibration depends on the situation. The following timeframes are considered normal:
First-time wear or after factory reset - 10 to 40 minutes
After sleep - up to 40 minutes (neuroactivity is not measured during sleep)
After charging the band - up to 40 minutes
After skin contact is lost - from 5 to 10 minutes
Poor contact with skin
If calibration continues beyond these timeframes, the most common reason is poor contact between the sensor and your skin.
Make sure the strap is snug but comfortable. The band should sit 1–2 finger widths above your wrist bone, and the sensor should stay in close contact with the skin without causing discomfort.
Avoid placing the sensor on areas with scars, tattoos, or dense hair, as these can interfere with readings. You can also try switching the band to the other wrist or wearing it on the inner side of your wrist to find a better fit.
Sensor cleaning
If the fit is correct but the problem persists, try cleaning the sensor. This should be done regularly, especially after workouts or sweating.
To clean the sensor:
Apply a small amount of liquid soap or dishwashing detergent
Gently rub the surface using your finger or a Q-tip
Rinse with water and dry thoroughly using a soft cloth or paper tissue
Important: Avoid washing the charging contacts under running water, as they are not waterproof.
What to do next
After cleaning, observe whether the “Sensor doesn’t fit” message appears less often and whether the calibration completes successfully.
