If your sleep is not detected or the data seems incorrect in the app, here's what you need to know about how GoBe tracks sleep and what can affect its accuracy.
How GoBe detects sleep
GoBe analyzes a combination of biometric signals to determine your sleep status, including:
Arm movement (via accelerometer)
Heart rate
Lack of physical activity over time
For GoBe to recognize the start of sleep, you need to remain still and relaxed for about 10 minutes. If you’re tossing and turning or moving your hand frequently during this time, the device may not be able to detect that you’ve fallen asleep.
In addition, sleep efficiency and sleep quality are calculated based on how still you remain during the first 30 minutes after falling asleep. If there is movement during this period, GoBe may not register it as sleep at all, or it may record it as low-quality or interrupted sleep.
Common reasons for missing or incorrect sleep data
You were moving too much while falling asleep or during the night
Your arm was not in a relaxed position or was pressed against a hard surface
You fell asleep suddenly without a wind-down period, making it harder for the algorithm to detect the transition to sleep
Tips to improve sleep detection
To help GoBe recognize your sleep more accurately:
Try to wind down before bed - take a bath, drink herbal tea, or listen to calming music
Make your sleep environment quiet, dark, and cool
Avoid using your phone or devices in bed
Wear GoBe snugly on your wrist, not too tight or loose
Still having trouble?
If you’ve followed the above recommendations and sleep is still not being recognized correctly:
Note the approximate time you fell asleep
Let us know if you were awake in the middle of the night
Share a screenshot of the sleep data (or lack thereof) from your app
Our team continues to improve the sleep detection algorithm and we’re happy to investigate any issues you're experiencing.
