If you suspect that the heart rate displayed by your GoBe is incorrect, here’s what you need to know and how you can verify the accuracy.
1. Was the incorrect measurement during physical activity?
First, consider when you noticed the unusual heart rate. Was it during a specific activity or workout? Some types of movement, especially those involving rapid or irregular wrist motion, may affect the accuracy of sensor readings. If so, please take note of the type of activity, as it may help us better understand the situation.
2. What are you comparing it to?
To assess whether the reading is truly incorrect, let us know if you’re comparing GoBe’s data to another device or manual measurement. It's important to note that differences between devices are normal within a certain range, especially if they use different technologies (e.g., optical sensors vs. ECG).
3. How to check your heart rate manually
If you believe the number is significantly off, try the following:
Sit still and relax for at least 15–20 seconds.
Avoid measuring your heart rate immediately after physical activity, as your pulse may still be elevated.
Measure manually:
Place your index and middle fingers on the side of your neck, just below your jawline (carotid pulse), or
Place your fingers on your wrist, on the thumb side, between the tendon and the bone (radial pulse).
Count the number of beats for 15 seconds, then multiply by 4 to get your beats per minute (BPM).
Compare this with the number shown in the app.
If there’s a significant difference, please take a screenshot from the app and send it to us, along with the manual count result.
We’re here to help and will gladly investigate the issue further once we receive more details.
