GoBe aims to give you a comprehensive understanding of your energy intake, and this includes providing an estimated breakdown of your calories into macronutrients (carbohydrates, fats, and proteins). However, it's important to understand how this feature works and its current limitations.
GoBe's Approach to Macronutrient Calculation
GoBe calculates macronutrient values based on your total absorbed calories. Essentially, once the device determines the amount of energy your body has taken in, it then estimates what mix of macronutrients would typically correspond to that energy level within the context of a healthy, balanced diet.
It's crucial to remember that the macronutrient values you see in the app might not directly reflect the exact nutrient content of a specific meal you just ate. This is because GoBe tracks all energy absorbed by your body, which includes not only calories from the food you consume but also energy released from your body's internal reserves (like stored fat or glycogen).
Beta Testing and Current Limitations
Please note that the macronutrient breakdown feature is currently in beta testing. This means we are actively working on refining its accuracy and functionality.
Due to its current design, GoBe performs best when you follow a generally healthy and nutritious diet. Strict dietary restrictions or eating patterns, such as low-carb diets, ketogenic (keto) diets, or extended fasting, can affect the accuracy of the device's overall energy tracking and, consequently, its macronutrient calculations.
We are committed to continuously improving GoBe's capabilities. We plan to add support for different diet modes in future updates. This will allow the device to provide more accurate and tailored macronutrient estimations for users following various eating styles.
