GoBe U automatically estimates calorie burn throughout the day based on your physical activity, heart rate, and individual parameters.
The calculation takes into account not only movement but also how your body responds to physical activity.
What Data Does GoBe U Use to Calculate Calorie Burn?
Heart Rate
Heart rate data helps GoBe U estimate the intensity of physical activity. This is particularly useful during activities with limited arm movement, such as strength training or exercise on fitness equipment.
If your heart rate increases for reasons unrelated to physical activity, this may also affect the calorie burn estimate.
Physical Activity
GoBe U uses an accelerometer to analyze movement and determine the type of activity.
The band recognizes:
- Walking
- Running
- Routine activity
Other types of physical activity, such as cycling, elliptical training, or strength training, are not recognized as separate sports modes and are included as part of general activity.
Individual Parameters
The calculation also uses information from your profile, including:
- Weight
- Height
- Age
- Gender
By combining these data, GoBe U provides an individualized calorie burn estimate. This means that calorie burn may differ between users even when they perform the same type of activity for the same amount of time.
How Can I Improve Calorie Burn Accuracy?
To make sure GoBe U has enough data to estimate your calorie burn:
- Wear the band regularly, preferably 22–23 hours per day, removing it mainly for charging.
- Make sure the strap provides stable sensor contact with your skin without causing discomfort.
- Wear GoBe U approximately two fingers above your wrist bone.
- Make sure the sensors maintain consistent skin contact during physical activity.
Does GoBe U Recognize Specific Sports?
GoBe U does not use separate sports modes for every type of workout. Walking and running are recognized separately, while other types of activity are included as part of routine physical activity.
However, GoBe U does not rely solely on the detected activity type to estimate calorie burn. The calculation also uses other data, including your heart rate and individual parameters.
