GoBe U automatically estimates the amount of calories absorbed by your body without requiring you to manually log food or count the calories in each meal.
GoBe U does not identify which foods you eat or directly measure the number of calories in your food. Instead, it analyzes changes in your body associated with nutrient absorption.
How Does GoBe U Estimate Absorbed Calories?
GoBe U uses HEALBE FLOW™ Technology, bioimpedance sensor data, and HEALBE algorithms to estimate absorbed calories.
After you eat and your body begins absorbing nutrients, changes occur in the distribution of fluid in your tissues. These changes affect the electrical conductivity of the tissues and can be detected by the GoBe U bioimpedance sensor.
The algorithm analyzes these signals to estimate the amount of energy absorbed by your body.
In other words, GoBe U does not track the amount of food you eat. It tracks physiological changes associated with nutrient absorption.
Why Don’t Calories Appear Immediately After a Meal?
GoBe U tracks calories as nutrients are absorbed rather than at the moment you eat.
This means calorie data may appear in the app with a delay. The timing of nutrient absorption depends on factors such as the composition of the meal, portion size, and individual physiology.
For example, simple carbohydrates are generally absorbed more quickly, while mixed meals containing protein and fat may take considerably longer to digest and absorb.
Why Can Calorie Data Change During the Day?
The first calorie values that appear in the app are not yet final.
The algorithm continues analyzing physiological signals and refining the timing of nutrient absorption for up to 12 hours. As a result, calorie values for previous periods may change as additional data is processed.
Daily calorie data is considered fully finalized after 12 PM (noon) the following day.
If you are comparing your GoBe U data with a food diary or another source, we recommend using the finalized data from the previous day.
Why Might GoBe U Data Differ from a Calorie-Tracking App?
Traditional calorie-tracking apps estimate calorie intake based on the foods and portion sizes you enter manually.
GoBe U uses a different approach. It estimates energy based on physiological processes associated with nutrient absorption. Because these methods are different, GoBe U data and your food diary may not match exactly.
If your absorbed calorie data regularly differs significantly from what you expect, please contact HEALBE Customer Care. We’ll be happy to review your data and help determine the next steps.
