Energy burn is determined based on your heart rate, pulse, as well as your anthropometric data and our observations of your activity. This allows the band to more accurately calculate calorie burn during sedentary workouts, such as weight training or push-ups. In cases where the heart rate is elevated in the absence of any activity, that is, for medical reasons or signal errors associated with wearing, the accuracy of the calorie burn calculation may be diminished.
All activities, except walking, running and sitting, are assigned the category of "routine" activities. Please note, that GoBe3 currently does not recognize other sports activities, except walking and running.
Physical activities are determined based on the data received from the accelerometer (your arm movement). This means that the accuracy of the device during workouts in which your hands are not active enough (treadmill, cycle, ellipsoid, some weight training workouts) may decrease.
To ensure the maximum accuracy of the calorie burn algorithm, it is necessary to provide the band with the ability to measure:
- wear the band all the time, 22-23 hours a day, taking it off only for charing
- maintain the correct position of the band - it should be placed two fingers or more above the wrist bone
- fasten the strap comfortably: it should be tight enough to ensure good contact with the skin, but not too tight as to hurt your wrist
