GoBe3 tracks your calorie intake automatically, no manual logging is needed.
The device does not directly track what you eat, rather it tracks the energy absorbed by your body.
GoBe3 uses patented FLOW Technology and an impedance sensor to analyze changes in your body’s glucose concentration. When your body absorbs energy, either from the food that you eat or from internal resources, the glucose level in your blood rises. In order to absorb glucose, your cells release water, so GoBe3 analyzes fluid moving in and out of the cells. Then we apply FLOW Technology advanced algorithm to this information in order to analyze this data and calculate your caloric intake.
GoBe3 registers calorie intake at the time when calories are absorbed by the body, at the stage of nutrients arriving to the bloodstream.
Different stages of your digestion process take different amounts of time:
1-2 hours - the process of chewing and swallowing;
3-4 hours - the handling of food by digestive fluids;
4-8 hours - digestion process;
5-9 hours, and sometimes more than 24 hours - food is delivered to the suction area and enters the blood.
Some of these processes occur simultaneously, so the first portion of digested food may enter the blood after 15-30 minutes, and the main part of the meal - only after 3-4 hours, while the absorption period can be superimposed on the next meal. Depending on the composition of the products, 90%% of the food can appear in the blood after 1 hour (sweets, sugar) and after 9-10 hours (complex dishes with meat and side dishes).
It is important to remember also that GoBe3 registers not only calories received from food, but those obtained from your internal reserves as well. When you are fasting, following a diet or exercising, you may get a higher intake from your internal energy stores than usual. Therefore, GoBe3 may still show energy consumption during fasting, dieting, or a night intake of calories.
