Neuroactivity is a GoBe U metric that reflects the activity of your autonomic nervous system and helps you track changes in your functional state throughout the day.
For example, nervous system activity may increase during emotional or physical activity and decrease when you are calm or resting.
How Does GoBe U Measure Neuroactivity?
GoBe U uses Galvanic Skin Response (GSR) technology to measure changes in your skin’s electrical resistance 10 times per second.
The collected data is processed by HEALBE algorithms and used to determine your current nervous system state and how it changes throughout the day.
What Neuroactivity States Does GoBe U Show?
GoBe U identifies four states of nervous system activity:
- Calmness - a relaxed state with low nervous system activity.
- Efficacy - a state of balance between activity and relaxation.
- Tension - increased nervous system activity.
- Overload - the highest level of nervous system activity on the GoBe U scale.
Your current state is displayed on GoBe U and in the HEALBE app.
What Can I See in the Neuroactivity Section?
In the Neuroactivity section of the HEALBE app, you can view:
- Current state - your current nervous system state.
- Trend - whether your nervous system activity is rising or falling.
- NS activity graph - changes in nervous system activity throughout the day.
- Peak load periods - periods when nervous system activity was highest.
- States - how much time you spent in different Neuroactivity states.
- Sleep periods - periods of sleep displayed separately on the graph.
What Happens to Neuroactivity During Sleep?
Neuroactivity is not calculated while you are asleep.
Your nervous system functions differently during sleep, so sleep periods are excluded from the Neuroactivity calculation and displayed separately on the graph.
This is normal behavior and does not mean that your GoBe U has stopped collecting data.
How Is Neuroactivity Different from Stress?
Neuroactivity and Stress are separate GoBe U metrics.
Neuroactivity reflects changes in nervous system activity throughout the day, while Stress is a separate physiological stress metric calculated by GoBe U.
Because these metrics represent different aspects of your physiological state, their values do not necessarily change in the same way and should not be directly compared.
How Can I Use Neuroactivity Data?
Rather than focusing on a single Neuroactivity value, you can observe how your nervous system activity changes throughout the day.
For example, you can compare your Neuroactivity during work, rest, physical activity, meditation, or other regular activities. Over time, this can help you better understand when your nervous system activity tends to increase or decrease.
