To keep your GoBe U functioning at its best, it’s important to follow proper charging guidelines. This article explains how to safely charge the device and interpret its battery indicators.
1. Before You Start Charging
- Make sure the charging contacts on both the band and cable are clean and completely dry
- Always use the original magnetic USB cable that came with your GoBe U - third-party accessories are not supported
2. Recommended Charging Routine
- Charge your GoBe U every two days or as needed
- A full charge typically takes around 1.5 hours
- Avoid charging during mealtimes, as the device may miss important metabolic data
- For best results, wear the band again at least 30 minutes before your next meal to allow the sensors to recalibrate
3. Understanding Charging Lights
The diode pad on your GoBe U displays color signals to show battery status:
- Purple – charging in progress
- Red – battery is low (under 20%)
- Yellow – battery is between 20% and 70%
- Green – battery is 70% or higher
- A solid green light means the battery is fully charged
Please note:
The red indicator only appears twice — when the battery level drops to 20% and then again at 5%. After that, it can be easy to miss the moment when the charge falls to 3% or 1%, which may result in the device shutting down unexpectedly.
We recommend placing the band on the charger as soon as it reaches 5%, to avoid it shutting down at an inconvenient moment. You can also check whether the band is still on by opening the app or by briefly pressing the side button.
Important: Behavior after complete discharge
If the wristband is completely discharged, it will power off entirely, including cutting off power to the memory and the system module (SAM).
After recharging, you will see a blue pulsing light — this indicates that the device requires initialization. Be sure to connect the wristband to the HEALBE app to complete the initialization process.
If you simply put on the wristband after charging it, without initialization, the data will not be recorded, as the device has not yet entered active mode.
Safety Precautions
Wearing the GoBe U band while charging is strictly prohibited, as it may be unsafe and, in the event of a power surge, could lead to device damage, burns, or even fire. We ask that you exercise caution and always remove the band from your wrist during charging.
Warning About Cable Short‑Circuiting
Avoid allowing the charging cable to come into contact with metal objects (for example, screwdrivers, paper clips, and similar items) during or after charging. This may lead to:
Short‑circuiting of the contacts
Cable overheating
Potential damage to the cable or the power source
After finishing the charging session, always unplug the cable from the power source, especially if you do not plan to use it right away.
This will help prevent unnoticed, prolonged short‑circuits that may damage the cable or cause overheating.
Additional safety tip: To further reduce the risk of short circuits, we recommend connecting the cable to the device first, and only then plugging it into the USB power source (whether a wall adapter, laptop, or any other type). This minimizes the chance of the active charging pins accidentally touching metal objects during connection.
