The HEALBE GoBe smart band calculates steps and distance based on the motion of your arm while walking or running. The accuracy of these measurements depends on how naturally and freely your arms move during the activity.
How step and distance tracking works
GoBe uses its built-in motion sensors to detect the rhythmic patterns of walking and running. These patterns help the device count steps and estimate the distance covered. However, for the most accurate results, your arm must swing freely while walking.
When tracking may be less accurate
The accuracy of step and distance tracking may decrease if your hands are not actively moving. This can happen in situations such as:
Pushing a shopping cart
Keeping hands in your pockets
Carrying bags or other objects
Walking on a treadmill
Cycling or using an elliptical
Doing weight training with minimal arm motion
Best practices for accurate step counting
To ensure optimal tracking:
Take walks of at least 10 minutes in duration
Let your arms move naturally while walking
Avoid carrying items in your hands when possible
Future improvements
The HEALBE team is continuously working to enhance the accuracy of step and distance tracking. Future GoBe updates will include support for different types of physical activities and sports modes to improve performance across various movement patterns.
