GoBe U automatically tracks the number of calories your body actually absorbs. This is made possible by the HEALBE FLOW™ Technology and a built-in bioimpedance sensor. Unlike food logging apps, GoBe U does not estimate what you eat - it measures what your body receives as usable energy.
How it works
When you eat, your body begins to digest food. As glucose enters your bloodstream, your cells start absorbing it and releasing water. This causes changes in fluid levels between and inside cells. GoBe U tracks these changes using its bioimpedance sensor — a method known for over a century but used in a wearable device for the first time in GoBe.
The FLOW™ algorithm analyzes this data to:
- detect shifts in tissue conductivity
- build your individual glucose curve
- calculate calorie intake based on glucose absorption dynamics
When GoBe U detects calories
GoBe U does not track food when it is eaten. It tracks calories when they are absorbed by your body.
This can vary:
- Simple foods, like sweets, may begin to be absorbed in 15–30 minutes
- Most calories are absorbed after 3–4 hours
- Complex meals with meat and side dishes may take 9–10 hours or longer
Absorption from one meal can overlap with the next, depending on what and when you eat.
Internal energy tracking
GoBe U also detects energy from internal sources, such as fat and glycogen. This is why you may see calorie intake even when you haven’t eaten.
This may happen:
- during fasting or intermittent eating
- while following a diet
- after physical activity
- while sleeping or resting
This reflects how your body actually uses energy - not just from food, but from reserves.
GoBe U doesn’t guess your intake based on labels or estimations. It shows what’s happening inside your body. That’s what makes the data more accurate and meaningful for your health and nutrition goals.
