The HEALBE Smart Scale uses bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) to estimate body composition. This method involves measuring how the body resists a small, safe electrical current.
How the measurement works
- Sensors on the surface
The scale includes built-in sensors that make contact with bare feet. - Low electrical current
A very weak and completely safe electrical signal passes through the body. - Different resistance in different tissues
- Fat tissue contains less water and shows higher resistance.
- Muscle tissue contains more water and conducts electricity more easily.
- Data interpretation
Based on the level of resistance, the scale applies internal algorithms to estimate the following:- Fat mass
- Muscle mass
- Bone mass
- Body water percentage
- Basal metabolic rate and other indicators
Does the scale measure proteins and fats directly?
No. The scale does not measure proteins or fats directly. It uses the electrical resistance of body tissues to indirectly estimate the proportion of fat and muscle mass.
How to use the scale
Step onto the scale with bare feet. The measurement will start automatically, and results will be sent to the HEALBE app if the scale is connected via Bluetooth.
