My heart rate during a workout is significantly lower than I expected. How so?
GoBe2 uses a Piezo Sensor that detects pressure changes in blood vessel walls during pulsation of blood in order to accurately determine the heart rate at rest. Your resting heart rate is a very important factor that can indicate your overall cardiovascular health.
The accuracy of pulse measurements while exercising may decrease if the hands are not active enough during the workout (treadmill, cycle, elliptical, and some weight training workouts).
The difference between real heart rate and GoBe measurements during jogging should not be larger than 10%...for example, the difference during jogging should be about 15 beats per minute or about 10% of your resting heart rate, while the difference during cycling might be higher, up to 20-40 beats per minute, or 15-20%.
If you suspect that your heart rate might be incorrect, please relax and do not move for 15-20 seconds before measuring again.
We are working hard in order to improve the accuracy of heart rate measurements and hope to get more precise results soon!
