The stress level shows only the physiological component of the tension of your body. Often by stress we mean emotional stress, but it is important to understand that GoBe algorithms evaluate specifically physical stress. For example, a physical workout causes a certain amount of stress on the body.
Stress level is calculated based on your heart rate and previous night's sleep level. For example, if you did not have enough sleep last night, it will affect your stress level the next day. If you work out and your heart rate it elevated, it may also contribute to a high stress level.
Tracking your stress level helps you plan your rest and recovery. However, if you want to work on the causes rather than the effects of stress, this is where the neuroactivity feature comes in handy.
The activity of the nervous system (or NS) is a new GoBe3 and HEALBE app reading. It represents autonomic nervous system activity, which is responsible for the functional state of your body. For example, neural activity usually rises while you perform in public, and it falls when you meditate.
Measurement of the nervous system activity has become possible thanks to the GSR technology, which has long been used for a variety of purposes. Using a GSR sensor, GoBe measures skin resistance 10 times per second. The measurements are then analyzed by the HEALBE algorithms and turned into an estimation of your state and Neuroactivity reports in the app.
While the stress level metrics help you work only with the effects of stress, the neuroactivity helps you to know about such stress in advance and prevent overstrain. By noticing overstrain in time, you will be able to work with overwork and stress before it affects you.
